I
am not sure where half of the summer has gone already! Julianna is so busy and
is getting so big. I cannot believe how much she has changed!
She
picked out this little pink chair at the start of the summer. It was so hard
for her to get in and out of as it was a little bit high. I kind of regretted
getting it (even though it was only from Dollarama). Last night though, it
struck me how not only is it easy to get in and out of, but she can touch the
ground with her feet while sitting in it! When I am doing things in the yard,
she often brings her little chair over to sit in for a break. It is so cute to
watch her carry it around the yard.
We
have been enjoying the life outside! She is in love with the bike trailer and
we seem to use it almost every day. Water in the water table and sandbox has
also been great fun with the heat that we have had. She loves just being
outside and it is usually one of the first things she asks for when she gets up
in the morning. She loves to help me with my flowers, even though it means
quite a few picked by her!
John
has been super busy with houses, but has had the last week off while waiting
for inspection. It has been blissful! We have gone on bike rides together,
taken picnics to the playground, gone swimming at the pool (twice even!),
played at home and so much more! Julianna has loved every minute of it! When he
worked yesterday, she walked around with my phone saying, “Dad.
Phone dad...”.
I can’t
believe the words that she has right now. It seems that we add more all of the
time. She is also becoming quite a copycat. Right now, she is saying: (I am
putting them here so that I have a record of them.)
*Dad *Mom *Lola
*Buh-Bye
(She will take my car keys, go to the door, turn and
say with a smile, “Buh-bye...It is also
her favourite when she shuts the door on you.)
*Grandma (we hear sometimes) *MINE (my least favourite...) *Bed *Juice
*Where’d
it go? *There it is! *Uh-oh! *Come *Car
*Truck (which has now turned to “Nice
truck!”) *Bath *Yes *Please
*Cool dude! *What’s
that? *Who’s
that? *Down! Get down.
*More (This week, it has been “More
cherries”
and “More
strawberries”. Strawberries is really any type
of berry.) *Trees *Outside
I couldn’t
think of anymore, but I know that there are more. I will have to ask John. But,
how could I forget... “Shoes! New shoes!
Oooo....shoes! Please mommy...Nice shoes.”
She is learning this “please”
thing a little too well. She tilted her head and smiles when she says it
(especially at the Bulk Barn...).
John told her the other day that we were soon going
to see Auntie Lindsey. “Lindsey”
came plain as day out of her mouth. It hasn’t
been as clear since though. We’ll keep
practicing. Whenever we try to get her to say “Ben”
though, she says “bed”
and goes to hers.
She is becoming quite the little boss lately. I will
catch here screaming (oh, her high pitched scream right now...) at the cat
because it is not doing what she wants. She will be slapping the chair and
screaming at her, “Come! Come here!”.
She gets so mad when the cat doesn’t
listen. Unfortunately, the cat usually does though... Our animals are way too
obliging to the little boss!
I can’t
believe how our little girl is growing. I told John last night that I am so
glad that we can just enjoy this stage right now and aren’t
worried about another little one. I feel like Julianna needs my time right now
and I am so blessed to have this time with her. I am feeling the need to make
every day count so much more now that work is looming on the horizon. I am
looking forward to going back and I think that part-time will be a good fit,
but it does make me all the more grateful for these days!
Health-wise, Boo seems back to normal. She has put
on a bit of weight (she is still a little mini though) and has not had any
seizures since we left the hospital. The last we saw her doctor, he was very
happy with how she was doing. She is staying on anti-convalescent meds for now,
but she loves them and often wants more, so it is not a big deal. I can’t
believe how sick she was only a few short months ago. I was laying with her
last night and thinking back to all of her seizures and I almost couldn’t
even remember the picture of her having one. What a blessing!
Our little girl keeps us on our toes, but we are
loving every minute of it! I am sharing some pics below!
Her dress for Uncle Jared's grad. She loved it. Cried when I took it from her to give to the cashier to pay.
"Cheese!". Another word of hers. She carries the camera, phones, books, anything really, around holding them up in the air taking "pics" of herself and saying, "Cheese!".
Wearing Daddy's undershirt. I told her that she was ready for a toga party.
Bubble fun
She loves this swing
Very much enjoying fresh cherries that Grandma K brought back from BC
A picnic and play at the school. The pea gravel was perhaps her favourite part.
Not quick enough Mommy...
